How to Perform the Neymar Rollover

Mastering the Neymar Rollover requires dedication and practice. Here is a simple step-by-step breakdown to help you execute this breath-taking move:

Step 1: Approach the Ball – Ask your child to start by approaching the ball at a moderate pace and position their body as if they're simply going to dribble normally.

Step 2: Plant the Foot - Just before reaching the ball, explain to your child that they should plant their dominant foot firmly on top of the ball, almost freezing its motion.

Step 3: Roll the Ball - Using the sole of their dominant foot, they must roll the ball backward slightly while maintaining pressure to keep it under control.

Step 4: The Roll Over – If they are able, ask them to swiftly lift their dominant foot and roll the ball over the top of their planted foot. As the ball rolls over, their non-dominant foot should be positioned to receive it.

Step 5: Control the Ball – Explain that as the ball lands on their non-dominant foot, they must quickly bring it under control to continue their run or make a pass.

Step 6: Accelerate - After successfully executing the Neymar Rollover, your child should accelerate away from the defender to create space and opportunities for their team.
