How to watch the 2023 Women’s World Cup (and make it a night or day to remember!)

Calling all football fans, another summer of footy is around the corner and here at Family F.C. We want to help you use this opportunity to not only get your football fix in but make it a fun family night or day to remember!

You can find coverage of all 64 matches on either BBC or ITV ( games will be divided between networks). The matches will air on the BBC network, ITV and ITV 4. You will also be able to watch the games on streaming services such as ITVX and iplayer. If you already have a family day planned and are already on the go, you can still get live commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live and 5 Sports Extra.

Now you know where to watch the games, Family F.C. shares our way to make the most of watching the World Cup;

England v Haiti

Saturday July 22nd - 10:30 ITV

The Lionesses' opening match of the tournament is an important game for last summer's champions to display their talent on the world stage. Family F.C. recommends you start the day by picking out your favourite England jersey or scarf to wear for the day! Get everyone involved by talking about the players you are most excited to watch and who you think will score the goals.

As it creeps closer to game time, take the time to make breakfast as a family (Extra challenge - can you incorporate England colours into your meal?). If you find yourself with a little extra time before KO, create a family challenge! This could be score predictions, game predictions or anything you want. Don't forget to write it down and see who the winner is at the end of the tournament!

England v Denmark

Friday July 28th - 9:30am BBC

Find your England gear as it’s time to go again! Whether you can watch the game live or after work, it can still be a great time! Family F.C. challenges you to get the family moving after watching game two. We suggest you bring a ball outside in the garden or your local park and take turns attempting your favourite move you saw in this game. A perfect way to watch the game, get outside and share lots of laughs with your loved ones.

England v China

Tuesday August 1st - Noon ITV

The third and final group game, the nerves could be running high or excitement in the air knowing we get to watch our lionesses play at least one more time. Either way, this makes a perfect opportunity to bring the family together once again.

With another game around mealtime, this could be a fun opportunity to cook a meal or bake a sweet treat that incorporates the colours found on both teams' flags. If cooking isn't your thing, Family F.C. suggests encouraging the kids to get creative and ask them to design a future world cup jersey or what they think the trophy should look like. Even drawing or colouring a picture of their favourite England player! After the match, a quick family game of football in the garden or park could be the perfect way to end the day, no matter what happens to our Lionesses.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar as the 2023 Women’s World Cup final is on Sunday, August 20th at 11 am in the UK and Family F.C. is hopeful that we will see our Lionesses there!

GO ENGLAND GO!
